The second regional festival “Nadezhda Altaya” was held in the city of Barnaul.
Place: Russia, Altai Territory, Barnaul City.
Date:May 3, 2026.
Approximately 300 fighters of various ages participated in the event. All participants were divided into categories based on their experience and qualifications. The athletes competed in “kata” as in duels, with pairs taking turns performing the kata according to the Olympic principle, and only the winner of the match advanced to the next round.
The quality of technique significantly improved towards the finals, and the battles for first and second place were an exciting spectacle. All fighters, regardless of their results, received participant diplomas, which will give them an advantage in the “kata” discipline during the upcoming spring exam.
The festival also featured the IV Championship of the “Arkuda Dojo” Kyokushin Karate School in Tameshiwari for men. The competition was held in traditional form, with competitors breaking boards in four positions: seiken (fist), shuto (edge of the palm), hiji (elbow), and kaka-to (heel).
The tournament attracted a record-breaking number of participants, with 22 fighters. Among the athletes were winners and medalists from previous competitions. In the exciting challenges, Evgeny Kuritsyn won the cup with a score of 28 boards.
However, three participants showed the next result of 26 boards, and the places were distributed only according to the weighing results. Danil Lysov won the silver medal, Alexey Kazantsev won the bronze medal, and Pavel Ishchenko took the honorable fourth place.
Congratulations to the participants of the competition, and see you at the exam!
Sincerely,
Osu!
