The Russian National Federation of Karate So-Kyokushin held the All-Russian Winter School in Kazan on February 1, 2026, under the direction of Russia’s Branch Chief, Shihan Ilsur Fazdalov (6th Dan).

The program was intense and engaging, aimed at developing the athletes’ physical, technical, and tactical skills. Karate Winter School training sessions were held in two two-hour cycles per day. The first cycle focused on kihon and ido. The second cycle included a detailed analysis of kata and preparatory exercises for kumite.

The goal of the All-Russian Winter School was to prepare athletes for upcoming competitions at various levels, improve their physical, technical, and tactical readiness, enhance mental stability and self-confidence, instill discipline, and develop a healthy lifestyle.

For the first time, younger students were able to participate in the Winter School. While it may have been technically challenging for them, they were very pleased, gaining a wealth of knowledge and a boost of energy. Technique is a matter of persistent training. But to truly follow the path of martial arts, you must be passionate about your favorite activity.

I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Russian National Karate Federation So-Kyokushin Kaikan, Shihan Ilsur Fazdalov, Vice President Azat Fazdalov, and Vice President Vitaly Buslaev. I would also like to extend a special thank you to the seniors and all the participants of the Winter School for their excellent work, their dedication, and their thirst for new knowledge. We hope that the knowledge and skills imparted to you during the Winter School will give a powerful boost to your athletic and professional careers.
