From September 4th to 7th, Polish So-Kyokushin had the great honor of participating in a unique seminar organized by Shihan Radek Ambroziak (The Country Representative and The Branch Chief of Poland) led by Shihan Mac Robertson from the UK.
During his stay in Poland, Shihan Mac, known for his extensive experience and passion for karate, visited the Husaria Szczecin, Buntai Kołobrzeg, and Shodan Chojna dojos at the invitation of Shihan Radek Ambroziak.
He led joint training sessions with karate students from the aforementioned dojos and guests from dojos in Moryń, Koszalin, and Gdynia, sharing his knowledge and inspiring all participants.
The meetings provided not only an opportunity to refine techniques but also to deepen our understanding of the essence of Kyokushin—both practical and philosophical.

The first day of the seminar at Husaria began with work on breathing and its importance in karate practice.
We paid particular attention to the sanchin kata, exploring its practical applications in combat and in building inner strength.
Shihan also emphasized the precision of executing stances, strikes, and blocks, emphasizing that it’s the details that make a technique effective.
During the class, each of us also had the opportunity to ask questions, which Shihan answered openly, sharing his extensive experience and practical tips.

The second day was devoted to various methods of working with breath  used in various disciplines.Shihan Mac spoke about his experiences outside of Kyokushin, pointing out the many commonalities between different styles and how they can complement each other.
he main focus of the training was the tensho kata, along with its accompanying techniques.
Shihan shared many valuable tips on discipline, concentration, and the role of imagination in training.
Finally, we took a fresh look at taikyoku kata, performing them in various ways—including backwards and inverted. This allowed us to discover new possibilities and look at familiar patterns in a completely different way. The seminar with Shihan Mack Robertson was an incredibly valuable experience for us—both technically and spiritually.
The knowledge and inspiration we gained will undoubtedly be reflected in our daily training.
We are incredibly grateful to Shihan for his time, openness, and the wealth of knowledge he imparted. We hope that in the future we will have the opportunity to welcome him to Poland again and continue our shared journey in the spirit of Kyokushin.
