“The Prearl of the Sea 2021” – Kolobrzeg, Poland – Tournament Report
On May 8, 2021, the 2nd Kolobrzeg Kyokushin Karate Tournament for Children and Youth “Umi No Shinju – The Pearl of the Sea 2021” took place in the Millennium Hall of the Kołobrzeg Sports and Recreation Center. The organizer was the Kyokushin Karate Kolobrzeg BUNTAI club run by sensei Paweł Falko. 230 players from 23 karate clubs all over Poland took part in the tournament.
The first place in the general classification was won by the club from Inowrocław, the second place was taken by Husaria Szczecin, and the third place was by Drawsko Pomorskie. Congratulations!!! This year, the organizers also focused on prizes produced in the local Kos’s ceramics workshop. The original project of sensei Paweł Falko was highly appreciated by the winners.
The tournament was held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Kołobrzeg, Ms Anna Mieczkowska, who officially opened it. Mayor was very happy of the level of the tournament. Warm and kind words were also spoken by shihan Andrzej Kłujszo 5 dan, president of the West Pomeranian Karate Association, who funded a commemorative samurai statuette for the President and the organizer. The opening ritual was graced by the taiko drum play performed by sensei Ewa Tracz, a titled competitor of Husaria Szczecin, medalist of the World and European Championships.
