On June 6-8, 2025, Szczecin, Poland became the capital of kyokushin karate, hosting the unique IKO World So-Kyokushin Seminar, organised by the Szczecin Husaria Dojo under the leadership of Shihan Radek Ambroziak.
The event was attended by 150 karateka from all over the world, including Japan, England, Wales, Spain, Hungary and, of course, Poland.
The main instructor of the seminar was the World Champion in Kata and Kumite, Nozwa Fufu Senpai. Her knowledge and skills, as well as her high technical level, attracted participants who had the opportunity to delve into the secrets of the martial art during three days of intensive Keiko.
Translation from Japanese was provided by Shihan Radek Ambroziak and Sensei Marty Yamagata, which made it easier for participants from different countries to actively participate in the classes.
The seminar consisted of various training sessions covering kihon, idogeiko, kata and kumite.
Particular attention was paid to aspects of kata, especially the issues of “kankyu” and “ma”. Participants had the opportunity to practice under the supervision of experienced masters, which translated into high quality of learning.
The seminar began with the presentation of certificates and black belts to Shihan Piotr Zembrzuski, Sensei Tomek Gibowski and Senpai Daniel Gibowski, who in March this year, during the all-Japanese exam in Shizuoka, Japan, passed the exams for 6th Dan, 3rd Dan and 1st Dan in front of Hanshi Daigo Ohishi, respectively.
The certificates were presented on behalf of Hanshi by Shihan Radek.
The culmination of the seminar was the exam for master’s degrees, conducted in Japanese style by Fufu Senpai according to the requirements set by Hanshi Daigo Ohishi.
The participants took the exam with commitment, which was the culmination of three days of intensive Keiko, and which consisted of kihon, idogeiko, strength and endurance test, tameshiwari, kumite, including the 40 kumite test.
The atmosphere during the seminar was extremely friendly and warm, and the end of the event was graced by a “sayonara party” with live music, which lasted until dawn.
The participants not only had the opportunity to learn, but also to strengthen bonds and make new friends.
The Japanese guests emphasized how much they liked Poland, as well as the local cuisine and hospitality they experienced.
As a thank you for participating in the seminar, Shihan Radek presented our Japanese friends with commemorative Hussar statuettes, which will probably remind them of this exceptional event.
We would like to thank the Husaria Dojo for organising a seminar at the highest world level and for creating an unforgettable atmosphere that attracted karate enthusiasts from all over the world.
The IKO World So-Kyokushin Seminar in Szczecin will certainly remain in the memory of all participants for a long time.
Husaria Dojo would like to invite everyone to the next International Seminar in Szczecin, which will take place on June 5-7, 2026, and whose instructors will be Toga Senpai, Siuta Senpai – the uchideshi of Shihan Monma. See you there! OSU!!!
